Shed fire in Ruscote

At 7.34pm on Sunday 8 January, Oxfordshire County Councils Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a shed fire on the Ruscote Estate in Banbury.

Two fire engines from Banbury were called to the incident and on arrival were faced with a large fire in a brick built shed.

Fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus immediately tackled the blaze using high pressure hoses which prevented it spreading to the house and neighbouring properties.

WM John Callaway said: “ Luckily we were able to tackle the fire quickly, otherwise it could have spread to other buildings.”

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
