Two people have lucky escape from car crash

Oxfordshire County Council's Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a vehicle having left the A361, one mile south of Williamscot at around 8.50pm on New Year's Day.

Two Fire Appliances attended from Banbury Fire Station to assist the ambulance service in their efforts to remove the occupants from the scene.

Watch Manager Danny Hicks from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said "We attended the incident to assist the ambulance crew as the vehicle had come to rest in a field.”

“We removed a section of fencing in order to safely escort the occupants to the ambulance. Thankfully their injuries did not appear to be serious, however this incident could have had a very different outcome.”

“We would like to urge members of the public to take extra care when driving at this time of year, taking in to account the weather and likely road conditions."
