Choices and Consequences
You may be aware of the growing numbers of young people who have been killed or seriously injured in road traffic collisions.
Due to this it is vitally important to educate all students before they start driving as they will start to travel with older siblings and friends and need to be aware of the consequences for the choices they may make, either as a passenger or a driver.
The Choices and Consequences presentation is designed to cut the tragic number of road fatalities every year, many of which involve young adults. It covers all the dangers of joyriding, not wearing seatbelts, speeding, and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The programme targets year 10 and 11 year groups, is now in its fifth year and has proved very popular, either as a stand alone presentation or as part of PHSE delivery. It is free of charge and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Would you like to make a difference to the number of fatalities involving young drivers on Oxfordshire’s Roads? Then we hope that you will join Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service in doing something positive towards reducing the toll by requesting this presentation for your school.
We are happy to go into large schools more than once to ensure that all Year 11 students have the opportunity to attend. The ideal number for each session is 40, but if this is not possible delivery can be made to whole year groups.
