Fireworks and Bonfire Night

Do you like fireworks? Drago does and he is really looking forward to watching the fireworks this year.

Drago is going to an organised display at the local park this year with Mummy, Daddy and Flash. All of Drago’s friends are going as well so he should have a fun time, if he’s good he may be allowed a hot dog and perhaps even a toffee apple or candy floss.

Both Drago and Flash love the bright colours of the fireworks. Drago’s favourite is the Catherine wheel. Flash prefers the rockets as they shoot up and go bang. Drago isn’t keen on loud bangs as they sometimes make him jump.

Drago hopes you like fireworks and Bonfire Night as much as he does. He would like you to enjoy them safely by following his tips below:

• Never put fireworks in your pocket
• Never play with fireworks
• Never throw fireworks
• Only one sparkler at a time and make sure you are wearing gloves
• Sparklers must be lit by grown-ups
• Stand well back
• Keep pets indoors
• Never light fireworks – only a grown-up should handle and light fireworks
• Never go near a bonfire – stand well back with a grown-up
