Response to building regulation consultations

Building Control Bodies are required to consult with Fire Authorities to ensure satisfactory fire safety measures in relation to proposals covering a wide range of buildings. To ensure a speedy response for the applicant, we are committed to reply to all such consultations within 15 working days. This is monitored and our performance is shown below.

Formal and informal appeals

Occasionally a technical appeal may be made against a decision by us, concerning the enforcement of fire safety legislation. Initially this will we be of an informal nature, but if not resolved there is a formal legal procedure to be followed. The results of both informal and formal appeals are recorded and are shown below.

Complaints against enforcement decisions

Whilst it is considered to be a very rare event, should a person wish to complain about the way an enforcement decision has been taken, as opposed to a technical disagreement.
